Electropolishing

ELECTROPOLEMENT

Electropolishing is the electrolytic removal of the metal in a highly ionic solution by means of an electric potential and current.                  Electropolishing is an effective means of reducing micro-roughness that characterizes the surface of stainless steel and similar construction metals.

The smooth-looking surface of electropolished components makes it more difficult to deposit and retain floating impurities. Such a process is usually used to remove a very thin layer of material on the surface of a metal part or component.
